Books

When I started thinking about writing again, I decided I needed to update my knowledge. Technology and the world has moved on slightly since I last studied electro-acoustic music in 1989!

I did some research (by which I mean I used google) and got a kindle copy of the Cambridge Companion to Electronic Music, edited by Nick Collins and Julio d’Escrivan and I also ordered a copy of Electronic and Experimental Music (Technology, Music and Culture) by Thom Holmes.

I have finished the first, which was great at getting me back into the themes and thoughts, though I found some of it rather over-academic for what I am after. It is a good overview of the areas and gives plenty of references to follow-up on.

I am very much looking forward to starting the Holmes book now 🙂
